Our Mission

Compass Marketing coordinates with internal and external organizations and companies to promote their products and services to the Penn community.


We work closely with each vendor to design a personal marketing approach to reach each client’s goals. Our mission is to give our vendors a better foothold on Penn’s campus by strategizing and implementing marketing initiatives, while also providing our employees with a fulfilling experience.

Our Values

At Compass Marketing, we emphasize giving every person a voice in what we do and how we operate. We believe that relationships matter, not only between our team, but between our agency and our clients.


We are a fun, tight-knit, highly collaborative community that values taking initiative. We hope to provide each client with superb service to help them achieve success, and we hope to provide each employee with a meaningful experience while at Penn and with Compass Marketing.

Our History

Compass Marketing is a branch of Penn Student Agencies - the University of Pennsylvania’s student-run businesses. PSA, as it’s known, began under FDR’s National Youth Administration in the 1930s. In the early days, PSA’s services included the Dorm Laundry Agency, the Parking Squad, and the Trunk Moving Squad. Business slowed in the 1940s due to World War 2, but PSA continued to grow following the war. New agencies included Birthday Cake Delivery, Coat Checking, and Stationary.


In the 1960s, PSA first started partnering with corporations to promote them on campus, and soon PSA Promotions burst on to the scene. Promotions has worked with Balfour (class rings), School Storage, Kaplan Test Prep, and many more.


In Spring 2020, PSA Promotions rebranded to Compass Marketing, and we would love to partner with you and continue a strong legacy of student business.
